    is to provide a warm welcome to people seeking asylum in Bristol and to offer the support they need to access living essentials, emotional support, recreation, shelter, community, legal advice, health care and employment.

Voluntary Role

We are looking to appoint someone with leadership qualities and high motivation, initially to join us as a trustee in June and then to take on the position of Chair in November.

Duration: 3 years with potential for reappointment (Voluntary Role)

  • Trustee appointment Start Date: 12 June 2026 or later by agreement

  • Start Date as Chair: 1st November 2026

Our Services

We welcome people of every religion, race and ability with no judgment.  We expect everyone to be kind to each other, while respecting personal space. We hope you enjoy being part of this loving community.

Where people can choose with dignity free quality items donated by the public - from clothing, toiletries, and toys, to household and electrical items.

Open Monday - Friday, from 10.30am - 3.30pm.

Our activity groups provide a space for sharing skills, learning, laughing, and chatting - a time for people to take care of their wellbeing, meet friends and feel belonging. 

We also organise several day trips & weekend retreats that run throughout the year.

A befriending programme connecting people to alleviate isolation and grow friendship. The 10-week program puts in touch local volunteers with our community of people settling in Bristol for friendship and support.

    8.30am 10k, 10am Half-Marathon

    Saturday 9th May - Mini & Junior Run from 8.30am

    Lace up your trainers and hit the streets of Bristol for a cause that truly matters and is rooted in community-spirit. Take on the 10k or Half-Marathon and raise vital sponsorship to provide essential supplies, emotional support, and a warm welcome to those rebuilding their lives.

    With 45 runners and counting, this is our biggest year yet!

    On the 10th of May, our dedicated team of runners will take on the 10k and Half-Marathon to raise sponsorship for an incredible cause. Team ABC is made up of a wonderful mix of people who care deeply about this cause- including staff from local schools, volunteers, ABC staff, friends and family. We’re even bringing along a few little ones, who’ll be tackling the mini and junior runs!

    Together we’re running to raise funds for Aid Box Community, helping to provide support, supplies and sanctuary to refugees and those seeking asylum in Bristol! 🌟

    ABC Drop-in Cafe: Mondays and Fridays. Bring warmth, welcome and energy to our new drop-in cafe at the ABC hub. Give just 3hrs a week and help build a morning of connection, culture and community spirit here at ABC. Interviews 20th/27th March (in-person OR online).

    Spring Connections Programme: Meet someone new, build friendships, exchange culture and help a refugee or asylum seeker rebuild their life here in Bristol. Interviews 3rd/10th April (in-person OR online).
